A More Accessible Way to Navigate OregonGuardianships and Conservatorships

Guardianships and conservatorships provide essential support for a loved one, but navigating the
legal requirements can be challenging. Oregon courts require detailed filings and compliance
with notice procedures and statutes. For many families, the hardest part isn’t the decision to
pursue guardianship or conservatorship—it’s figuring out how to move through the system while
minimizing the stress and cost.

To make the process more accessible, The Commons Law Center now offers a flexible,
affordable service model that gives families options. Our approach includes
flat-fee document
preparation, legal coaching, and full-scope representation for contested matters
, depending on
your location in Oregon.

Types of Cases

We offer support for temporary and indefinite guardianships and conservatorships, for both
minors as well as adults.

Flat-Fee Document Preparation

For uncontested cases, our flat-fee document prep option provides attorney-drafted filings for a
set fee. We prepare and file the petition, required notices, and supporting documents. We then
give you clear instructions for the next steps.

Full-Scope Representation When Necessary

For complex or contested cases, we offer fullscope representation. An attorney manages filings,
communication, and courtroom advocacy from start to finish. This option is available in select
regions and billed hourly.

Flat- Fee Legal Coaching for Added Support

Legal coaching offers strategic guidance without the cost of attorney representation. You
represent yourself, while an attorney helps you prepare your case for the courtroom. We provide
flat-fee, virtual coaching sessions for anyone navigating an Oregon case, no matter where they
live.

The Path Forward

Our mission is to expand access to justice for Oregon families. By offering multiple levels of
support, we make guardianship and conservatorships more accessible and affordable.
