Our Tenant Attorney Tanner Baloh Featured in Story on Evictions in Oregon
Friday, February 13th 2026 - Thank you to KPTV for bringing attention to the eviction crisis in Oregon. With public support and testimony we are optimistic that Portland City Council will do the right thing - use the $21M found by the Portland Housing Bureau to support tenants with rental assistance and tenant eviction defense.

Today, February 5th 2026 Portland City Council votes on adopting an amendment that would fund eviction prevention services in Portland. Our staff, including tenant law paralegal Lucas Angell-Atchison featured in a KPTV story on the subject, testified in person last Wednesday.
We encourage our councilors to use these unanticipated funds to meet the moment - invest in service providers who are currently doing the work of keeping people from becoming homeless and getting people housed.

A Heartwarming Update to our Oregonian Article
Monday, September 15th 2025 - Thanks to the generosity of the community our client, Ahmeah, was able to cover the rent owed and get her eviction case dismissed.
We are so grateful to all of you who have encouraged the county to fund rental assistance and legal support, like The Commons, that will keep Portlanders like Ahmeah housed.

Friday, September 12th 2025 - We’re honored to be featured in The Oregonian as part of their deep-dive on evictions in Multnomah County—where eviction filings have surged to around 1,000 each month in 2025.
Our Tenant Eviction Defense team has risen to the challenge, meeting tenants where they are - in court - and offering free legal advice, negotiation and representation. We have seen every day how this service turns the tide for tenants when they most need advocacy and support.

Pub Night Fundraiser at TPK Brewing Co.
Join us for a game night fundraiser at TPK Brewing Co. at 5051 SE Hawthorne Blvd on May 22nd from 4pm-8pm. We will be running a Settlers of Catan tournament (with prizes for the winners!), a variety of other games, and a craft corner. One dollar from every drink sold will go to The Commons Law Center.

Reigning Roses is Rose Haven's biggest annual fundraiser. Supporters and guests will unite for an uplifting celebration of women, striding a beautiful route through NW Portland featuring interactive and sponsored stops along the way.
