It’s #GivingTuesday

Dear Friends of The Commons,

Who has access to justice and who does not?

Jodi, a single mom of three came to us this year  needing to get a divorce and enough support for her young kids. Jodi, like 84% of Oregonians facing a civil legal matter, hadn’t been able to access an attorney. She came to us and we were to provide her with legal advice and helped her with her paperwork. She was able to establish a fair parenting plan with her co-parent and was able to move on with her life.

#GivingTuesday boosts our campaign to help people access legal services, like Jodi. Your donation supports our services and helps us expand our programs into rural Oregon. Donate this #GivingTuesday to increase access to justice for everyday people in Oregon.

To sweeten your donation this #GivingTuesday,  we have two offers for you:

Freeland Spirits: Donate $50 or more and enter to win a free bottle of their locally-made award-winning gin AND a tasting for four at their NW Portland tasting room.

Atlas Pizza: Donate $25 and receive a coupon for a free pizza.

Willamette Week really pulled out all the stops for the Big Give Day this Giving Tuesday.

Give $10 or more tomorrow and you could win a Guatemala Coffee Tour package for two from Nossa Familia Coffee!

This one-of-a-kind, immersive tour includes all the elements of wonderful travel: adventure, stunning scenery, delicious food, opportunities to connect with locals, and leisure time to truly experience Guatemala’s rich culture. It’s also a deep dive, hands-on, origin trip for coffee lovers!

This trip package can be used on an upcoming Nossa Familia Origin Trip of your choosing. Trip tickets must be used in either 2024 or 2025. You can find all the details about the trip here. Some trip highlights include:

  • So much good coffee! And drinking it with the farmers who grew it. How cool is that?!

  • Guided tours and activities at several operational coffee farms to learn from the farmers about coffee harvesting and processing.

  • Meeting the farmers that grow some of the coffee roasted and sold by Nossa Familia.

  • Sightseeing in the beautiful city of Antigua.

  • Enjoying the views and activities at the gorgeous Lake Atitlán.

  • Nature hikes, delicious local food and unique cultural experiences.

*Air travel is not included. Winners will need to have a valid passport and obtain their own travel insurance.
